1. General information / Approval
The Sundström model number SR 200 Airline is a
Type C, Continuous Flow, Supplied Air Respirator (CF/
SA). SR 200 Airline has been tested and approved by
NIOSH to provide the approved level of respiratory
protection to a user.
1.1 Applications
The SR 200 Airline is a Supplied Air Respirator. The
unique feature of the SR 200 Airline is the scope it
provides for filter back up.
It is particularly well suited if the user is doing hard or
sustained work, and if the pollutants have poor warning
properties or are particularly toxic.
The SR 200 Airline is made of materials which do not
give rise to frictional sparks.
1.2 System description
The SR 200 Airline is designed for connection to a suitable
source of breathable compressed air. The pressure in the
mask prevents polluted ambient air from entering the mask.
SR 200 Airline
A compressed air supply hose approved for breathable
air is connected to a regulator which is secured to the
user's belt. The airflow rate to the mask can be adjusted
by means of the regulator. The regulator is equipped with
a warning whistle which will come into operation if the air
flow rate should drop below the recommended value. From
the regulator, the air flows through a breathing hose to into
the mask. In order to prevent the admission of polluted
air, the filter mounting must be blanked off either with the
sealing plug supplied or with suitable protective elements.
One of the following methods can be used:
1. Seal the filter mounting by means of the sealing
plug supplied. The equipment can then be used
as conventional Supplied Air Respirator. Fig. 1:a.
2. Connect the filter adapter to the filter mounting and
fit a suitable protective element.
See 2.4.1. The equipment can then be used as a
filtering device when no compressed air is supplied,
e.g. when the user is in the course of moving to or
from the work area, or in the event of inadvertent
interruption in the air supply. Fig. 1:b.
3. The protective element has to be blanked off with
the sealing cover. Sealing cover must then obviously
be removed when the system is in use in order to
allow breathable air to be admitted through the filter.

1.3 Breathable air
Breathable air shall conform to the requirements of
CGA G-7.1 Grade D or higher quality.
2. Use
2.1 Unpacking
Check that the equipment is complete in accordance
with the packing list and that no transport damage
has occurred.
2.2 Packing list

• Belt with control valve
• Sealing plug
• Sealing cover
• Pre-filter holder
• Flow meter
• Filter adapter
• User instructions
2.3 Functional check
• Check that the mask is complete, correctly as-
sembled, thoroughly cleaned and undamaged.
• Check particularly carefully the inhalation and exha-
lation membranes and their seats. The membranes
are consumables and must be replaced if there are
any signs of damage or ageing.
