Safety Information
Warning: Handling the device improperly can cause a life-
threatening electrical shock, or damage or destroy the
device.
• Read the instructions for the device and keep them for future
reference.
• Only connect the device's connection cables to wall sockets that
are designed for that purpose, and that have been properly
installed.
• Only use original accessories and original replacement parts.
Warning: Damaged connecting cables, or damage to the
casing or the device, can cause life-threatening electrical
shocks.
• Never use a damaged device.
Warning: The telecommunications lines connected to the
overvoltage protection module can generate an extremely
high bell voltage. Touching live conductors, components or
telephone connections may cause a life-threatening electric shock.
• Only operate the overvoltage protection module when its casing is
closed.
• Before mounting the device, unplug the power plugs, TAE
connectors and western plugs on the telephone connection, pBX
and end devices connected to the pBX. Follow the same
procedure if you need to open a device that has already been
installed.
• Only operate the overvoltage protection module when it is
mounted on the wall.
• Also comply with EN 61643-21, July 2013 (Surge protective
devices connected to telecommunications and signalling
networks).
Warning: Only a qualified electrician is permitted to install
earthing connections on the potential compensation bar or
the connection with the protective earth conductor in a
permanently installed electrical device such as a mains socket.
Warning: If technical threshold values are exceeded (even
briefly), this can damage or even destroy the device, and
also the devices connected to it.
• Never exceed the threshold values stated in the technical data.
