shadow areas, activate the infrared illuminator by pressing the "IR"
Button (2).
• Set up your device to an object that is about 100 meters away, and
adjust the maximum image quality by turning on the eyepiece(s) (4)
and on the lens / lenses (3). After the adjustment, do not rotate the
eyepiece irrespective of the distance and other conditions.
• The night vision device can now be focused on different distances by
turning on the lens / lenses (3).
• After you are satisfied with your observation, deactivate the device by
pressing the "ON" button (1), (the green LED will disappear) and place
the protective cover(s) (5) back to the lens / lenses.
CAUTION!
Your NightSpy can be used in extreme cold. However, when the unit is
brought back into a warm environment, you MUST wait approximately 5
hours before using the unit again. Failure to do so may result in damage
as a result of conden sation accumulating on the internal circuitry of the
unit. With twilight observations, depending on the brightness, the lens /
16
lenses cover(s) (5) should remain on the lens / lenses with a slight open-
ing for the protection of eyes.
STORAGE
Always store the NightSpy (in its case) in a dry, well ventilated area away
from heating/air conditioning vents or other heating devices. Temperature
should not be lower than +10°C. Remove the battery if the device is to be
stored for longer than 2 months.
TROUBLESHOOTING
• The NightSpy does not work: Make sure that the batteries are installed
properly and that they are in good working condition. Depress the "ON"
switch to start the NightSpy charging system.
• Condensation collects on the unit: Your NightSpy can be used in
extremely cold temperatures. However, when the unit is brought back
into a warm environment, you must wait approximately 5 HOURS
before using the unit. This is due to condensation that may accumulate
on the electronic circuitry.
