To exchange the module extensions:
Observe Fig. 17 on page 89 and Fig. 18 on page 90.
1. Turn off the operating voltage and compressed air
supply.
2. Disconnect the electrical connections from the bus
coupler (2).
3. Loosen the bus coupler (2, Fig. 17 or 5, Fig. 18)
(2 hexagonal socket-head screws DIN 912 – M5
(1, Fig. 17), wrench size 4 or DIN 912 – M4
(1, Fig. 18), wrench size 3) and pull it off together with
the seal (3) of the adjacent module extension
(6, Fig. 17 or 7, Fig. 18) ab. If necessary, remove the
tie rods between the bus coupler and module
extension (6, Fig. 18).
4. Pull the module extension (6, Fig. 17 or 7, Fig. 18)
carefully off the tie rods (5, Fig. 17 or 6, Fig. 18).
5. Ensure that the seal (3) of the module extension is
inserted correctly.
Tilting the plug connections when pushing together
Tilting the module plug connections when pushing the
modules together could result in damage to the
contacts. This would cause the module to malfunction.
O Place the modules on a flat, level surface and then
push them together carefully.
6. Push the new module extension (6, Fig. 17 or 7,
Fig. 18) onto the tie rods (5, Fig. 17 or 6, Fig. 18).
7. Ensure that the seals (3) are inserted correctly.
8. Screw the bus coupler tight
(2 hexagonal socket-head screws (1) DIN 912–M4 each,
wrench size 3 (1, Fig. 18) or
DIN 912 – M5, wrench size 4 (1, Fig. 17)).
Tightening torque:
2,0 to 2.5 Nm for M4;
3,0 to 3.5 Nm for M5.
