MOUNTING THE MACHINE ON A WORKBENCH
ATTENTION: If the machine is to be used in a permanent location, it is recommended that it be
secured to a workbench or other stable surface. When mounting the belt/disc sander on a
workbench, holes must be drilled through the support surface of the workbench.
1.
Mark the holes on the workbench where the belt/disk
sander will be mounted using the holes in the base as a
template.
2.
Drill the holes through the workbench.
3.
Place the belt/disk sander on the workbench by aligning
the holes in the base with the holes drilled in the
workbench.
4.
Use suitable fasteners (not included) to securely attach the
machine to the workbench.
ATTACHMENT OF THE MACHINE TO A WORKBENCH
ATTENTION: If the machine is to be used as a portable tool, it is recommended to attach it to a
mounting plate that can be attached to a stable surface. 20 mm (3/4") thick plywood or chipboard
is recommended.
1.
Mark the holes where the belt/disk sander will be mounted on the
bracket using the holes in the base as a template.
2.
Follow the last three steps in the "Mounting the Machine on a
Workbench" section.
3.
For use, place the machine and its mounting plate on a suitable
surface and hold the mounting plate securely in place.
ADJUSTING BAND TRACKING
1.
Connect the machine to the mains.
2.
Turn the machine on and then turn it off immediately, taking into
account any lateral movement of the belt. If the belt tends to slip out
of the idler or drive rollers, it is not moving properly.
3.
If the sanding belt moves toward the side of the machine disc, turn
the tracking knob 1/4 turn up. If the sanding belt moves away from
the disc, turn the tracking knob down 1/4 inch.
4.
Turn the machine on and then turn it off immediately, taking into
account any lateral movement of the belt. Readjust the tracking if
necessary.
