1. Introduction
We are pleased with your decision to pur-
chase a hotty wax heating unit.
Please observe the following information
in order to ensure long and trouble-free
service.
2. Application Area
The hotty is an electronically regulated
wax dipping pot. It is ideally suited for
thermal processing with all conventional
dipping waxes.
The following special characteristics make
the quality of the hotty apparent to you
during operation:
On the one hand, the precise tem-
perature regulation (+ / - 2 °C [3.6 °F])
ensures a uniformly high quality copings
and, on the other, working together with
the heater that reacts optimally to the tem-
perature conditions, prevents an overheat-
ing of the wax and resultant damage.
Please note that the warm-up phase is
intended to be gentle on the wax. It there-
fore may take some time before the wax
is completely liquefied. The continuous
increase of the operating temperature
prevents the temperature in the wax pot
from exceeding the desired setpoint. The
quality of the wax is thus maintained.
The hotty offers you optimal working
conditions. For example, the housing is
constructed so that both left- and right-
handed individuals can rest their hands on
the work while working at the unit. In addi-
tion, the dipping pot cover can be swiveled
completely out of work area.

2.1 Ambient Conditions
(in accordance with IEC 60664-1)
The hotty may only be operated:
• Indoors;
• Up to an altitude of 2,000 m (6,500 ft)
above sea level;
• At an ambient temperature of
5 – 40 °C [41 – 104 °F];
• At a maximum relative humidity of 80 %
at 31 °C [87.8 °F], decreasing linearly to
50 % relative humidity at 40 °C [104 °F];
• With a main power supply where current
fluctuations do not exceed 10 % of the
nominal value;
• At pollution degree 2;
• Over voltage category II.
3. Safety Information
• Before starting the unit, compare
the information on the nameplate
with the specifications of your
local power supply.
• Units with damaged power cords
or other defects may not be oper-
ated.
• During operation, always unroll
the power cord (D) (overheating
hazard in case of a short circuit).
• It is the responsibility of the
operator that national regulations
during operation and regarding
a repeated safety inspection of
electrical equipment are complied
with. For Germany these are the
regulation 3 by DGUV (German
Statutory Accident Insurance) in
relation with VDE (Association for
Electrical & Electronic Technolo-
gy) 0701-0702.
