CHAPTER 3 - INSTALLATION
DANGER
Electric shock risk
WARNING
All SWIMMEY pumps are self-priming. If the pump is used to suck water, it is advisable to install it
as close as possible to the source. All pumps should be installed in a ventilated area to ensure suf-
ficient air for cooling purposes. Suction pipes should be air-sealed and show no signs of bends and/
or counter slopes to avoid the formation of air locks that could impair the regular operation of the
pump. Pumps installed below the water level should be insulated from the system. It is advisable to
fit an on-off valve both on the delivery and suction side.
Pipes should be fitted in a position that protects the pump from vibrations, stresses and loads.
Therefore, pipe routes should be as short and direct as possible and avoid an excessive number
of bends to limit load losses. The delivery and suction pipes of SW 33 should have a minimum
diameter of 75mm (3"). It is also necessary to make sure that there is sufficient space around the
pump for maintenance purposes.
Fitting a non-return valve after the pump on the installation will prevent the impeller from
unwinding and is strongly recommended.
CHAPTER 4 - ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

Electric connections should be made using cables H07RN-F (external connections) or H05RN-F or
H07RN-F (internal connections). For connections, refer to Figures in the last page of this manual
: single phase motors or three-phase motors. Single-phase motors have a continuously running
condenser and an in-built thermal protection in the motor winding. The protections for three-phase
motors must be provided by customers. The electric system will have to have a cut-off switch with
singlepole switch.

When installing, please ensure pump is disconnected from
electrical supply.
Protect the pump and all pipes from bad weather or freezing
conditions.
Verify that the voltage and frequency of the pump shown on the
nameplate correspond to those available on the mains.
The installer must make sure that the electric system is grounded
in accordance with the law in force.
Make sure that the electric system has a high-sensitivity circuit
breaker D= 30 mA (DIN VDE 0100/739)
Use the pump for the applications listed on the nameplate.
Do not operate the pump without fluids.
Do not operate the pump when the interception valve on the
delivery side is completely close
