5. MEASUREMENTS/MODES OF OPERATION

5.1 Mode selection

After switching on (pressing the ON/OFF key
(7)), the following appears on the display ' - - - - '.
The device is now ready for operation. The re-
quired mode of operation is selected by press-
ing one of the following keys, 'V/A' (1), 'S' (2)
or 'P' (3). It is also possible to change the
mode of operation whilst taking a reading by
pressing one of these three keys.

5.2 Multimeter mode

After switching on, press 'V/A' (1), thereby
switching the device to multimeter mode. It is
possible to change over from voltage measure-
ment 'U' to
current measurement 'I' by re-
peatedly pressing 'V/A' (1).
The selection is confirmed by pressing 'E' (6).
The actual measured value is shown on the
display. In addition, the display provides infor-
mation as to which input the measured signal
is to be applied to. 'SP1' is displayed in respect
of voltage measurement and 'SP2' in respect of
current measurement.
Autorange:
In the case of voltage measurements, the de-
vice automatically switches to the correct
measuring range (0...10 V or 0...30 V) if the
limit value (10 V) is fallen below of or ex-
ceeded.
