When the required characteristic value has
been set, this is stored by pressing key 'E'.
Now the offset of the characteristic line (see di-
agram) can be altered (default value = 0). This
is achieved in the same way as changing the
slope value.
The values set remain stored even after the
device has been switched off or if the battery is
changed. If measurements are to be carried
out by means of a programmed characteristic
line, then this is selected in the sensor mode.
5.5 MIN/MAX memory
If a maximum or minimum value is to be deter-
mined during continuous measurements, then
this can be displayed during a measurement by
pressing '>' (4) (minimum value) or '<' (5)
(maximum value), whereby the value is dis-
played for the duration of the actual key being
pressed. By pressing key 'E' during a measure-
ment, the stored MIN-MAX values are reset.
MIN/MAX display is possible with all measure-
ments (with the exception of programmable
characteristics 'SE11', ..., 'SE14').
5.6 Voltage supply of connected sensors –
battery and mains operation
Mains operation:
Sensors can be powered via a 24 V socket
(14). To do this, the device must be connected
to a regulated 24 V power supply unit via the
external voltage supply socket (15) (see diag-
ram). Measurements with thermocouple sen-
sors (SE10) can only be carried out by means
of battery operation!
Battery operation
If the device is operated via a battery, then the
sensors, which require a 24 V supply are to be
connected as follows (see diagram):
5.7 Automatic switch-off
The device has an automatic switch-off facility.
If no value readings are taken over an ex-
tended period (approx. 10 minutes), then the
device will be switched off.
6. EXAMPLES OF MEASUREMENT
6.1 Voltage measurement
D.C. voltages ranging from 0 to 30 V can be
measured. The D.C. voltage to be evaluated is
connected to voltage input sockets SP1+ (10)
and SP1- (11), whereby the correct polarity
must be observed.
