The polycarbonate face shield 5120913 has a total weight of only 240 g. The user can adjust the face shield for an optimum ft on
their head by adjusting the length of the straps provided on the harness: vertical strap (3), (pins to be inserted into corresponding
holes) and horizontal strap (4), by rotating the rear knob, (5). The length of the strap can be adjusted with the face shield fitted
using a graduated knob on the rear, which acts on two rack segments. The polycarbonate shield element code 1093045 can be
adjusted vertically to about 180°, allowing the operator to raise or lower the shield when required without removing the entire PPE
assembly from their head. The face shield is equipped with lateral shield-fixing friction devices, which enable the resistance of the
backward tilting movement to be adjusted. If this adjustment is made correctly, the face shield cannot be involuntarily removed
from the user's head, in the expected conditions of use, owing to sudden sideways or upward movements. Before employing the
face-shield, the user must therefore:
- Assemble the device as follows:
• Rotate the pin (2) to 90° until it reaches the vertical position and unscrew the two lateral friction fixing devices (6)
• Insert the shield element (1)
• Rotate the pin (2) by 90° until it reaches the horizontal position, then screw the lateral friction devices (6) back down, ensuring
that the shield element is correctly fastened
- Adjust the length of the harness straps (3 and 4), as specified above
- Adjust the tightness of the flip-back motion of the shield using the two lateral friction devices (6), so that the shield cannot be
inadvertently raised during the envisaged working conditions yet can be raised easily when desired, with no change in the fit.
The face-shield should be stored in an environment free of organic vapours, at a temperature between +5° and +30°C. To avoid
damage during transport and handling, we recommend keeping the face-shield in its original packaging. To clean and disinfect,
wipe with soft anti-scratch cloths or fabric using any conventional disinfectant cleaning product for optical care.
DO NOT USE SOLVENTS.
The protective face-shield 5120913 composed of harness and polycarbonate shield complies with the requirements of EN 166:2001
for industrial PPE providing protection against high-speed particles with medium impact energy. The face-shield 5120913 may use
for spare parts only the original parts supplied by TECOMEC for the protection class indicated below. To replace the shield element,
proceed as specified above for the assembly procedure. Use only the shield element code 1093045 as a spare part. The face-shield
5120913 provides adequate protection of the user's eye area in situations where risks from medium-energy impact are foreseen and
could arise, for example, from the presence in the work environment of small metallic bodies at a speed no higher than 120 m/s. If
the cleaning instructions described above are followed, the shield should not be subject to excessive wear under normal working
conditions. Replace the shield if scratches or point-like cuts appear on the surface. The device should also be replaced after any
significant impact causing defects on the surface of the shield such as grooves, cuts or dents. The device should also be replaced
after every significant impact. Replace the complete device within no more than five years of normal use. The polycarbonate face-
shield 5120913 carries CE marking, the meaning and description of which is given below:

NOTE: The shield support carries a dual marking as it is a common element for two different PPE devices: a mesh face-shield and
a polycarbonate face-shield; in this case, the reference marking is the one given above. If the symbols F, B, and A are not shared
both by the eyepiece and the framework, the complete eye protection system shall be assigned the lower rating. If protection against
high-speed particles at extreme temperatures is required, the chosen eye protector must be marked with the letter T immediately
after the letter representing the impact class, i.e. FT, BT or AT. If the letter indicating the impact class is not followed by the letter T,
the eye protection device must be used only for protection against high-speed particles at ambient temperature.
CAUTION: Eye protectors providing protection against high-speed particles, when worn over prescription eyewear, can transfer the
impact and thus represent a hazard to the user. Materials in contact with the user's skin may cause allergic reactions in some highly
sensitive individuals. The packaging and device must be disposed of in compliance with applicable legislation at the end of their
useful lifetime. The certification procedure provided for by Article 10 of Directive 89/686/EEC has been carried out by CERTOTTICA,
Istituto italiano per la certificazione dei prodotti ottici Scrl, Zona industriale Villanova, I-32013 Longarone (BL) Italy, a notified body
registered with the European Commission (ID code 0530).
