4. Use/Operators
4.1 Proper use
The lifting column should be used exclusively for adjusting table heights and other adjustment
tasks of a comparable kind.
The lifting column should not be used in areas where there is a risk of explosion or in direct
contact with foodstuffs, pharmaceutical or cosmetic products.
Catalogue information, the contents of these installation instructions and/or conditions laid
down in the order are to be taken into account.
The values given in these installation instructions are maximum values and must not be exceeded.
4.2 Improper use
Improper use means that the information quoted in the Proper use section is not being observed.
In the event of improper use, incorrect handling or if this lifting column is used, installed or han-
dled by untrained personnel, this lifting column may pose risks for personnel.
Moving personnel with this lifting column is an example of improper use and is prohibited.
If this lifting column is used improperly, then RK Rose+Krieger GmbH ceases to be liable and its
general operating licence will be void.
4.2.1 Reasonably predictable improper use

Overloading the appliance by exceeding the weight or ED
•
Use in the open air
•
Use in an environment with air humidity > dewpoint
•
Use in room with an explosive atmosphere as defined in the ATEX directive
•
Opening the equipment
•
Use on an insufficiently firm base
•
Use with damaged feed lines or housing
A potential malfunction of the limit switch is to be prevented by its design. Lateral forces must not
lead to toppling. No risk must arise if the mains plug is pulled out.
4.3 Who can use, install and operate this lifting column
Individuals who have read and understood the installation instructions completely can use, install
and operate this lifting column. Responsibilities for handling this lifting column must be clearly
laid down and obeyed.
