Please observe the following instructions relating to the operation, maintenance and care of the Audi Kids Car,
to ensure the safe use of this children's pedal car.
Parents' responsibility
The Audi Kids Car complies with European
standard EN 71, as shown by the EC symbol.
It must only be used as intended to avoid risk
of injury or damage. Please take into account
that as a result of children's natural playfulness
and temperament, unforeseeable situations and
dangers may arise, for which the manufacturer
cannot be held responsible. For that reason you
should instruct the children or users in the cor-
rect usage of the Audi Kids Car, and draw their
attention to possible risks. You should in par-
ticular instruct the children in the proper use of
the freewheel function and the safe application
of the brake.
Commissioning
The toy must be assembled by an adult. With
just a few tweaks the Audi Kids Car is ready to
go. All you have to do is to fit the steering
column and the steering wheel. Insert the steer-
ing column from below, through the pre-drilled
holes in the car, as shown in illustration 1. Then
put the bottom section of the steering wheel
onto the steering column and attach it to the
threaded end of the steering column by means
of a nut, as shown in illustration 2A. Then screw
the top section of the steering wheel to the
bottom section, as shown in illustration 2B. The
8
backrest can be attached in any of four posi-
tions, depending on the size of the child. Please
note illustration 3 in this respect. Ensure that
the child does not hit the steering wheel when
pedalling, and is not sitting too far away from
the pedals. The correct seat position has been
achieved if the child's knee is still slightly bent
when the pedals are in the forward position.
The correct seat position is essential for safe
operation.
Use only genuine manufacturer's parts and
accessories for retrofitting or repairs.
Equipment
This children's pedal car is equipped with a
fully automatic freewheel device. The freewheel
device automatically prevents the pedals from
continuing to turn when the rider stops pedal-
ling; manual shifting is not necessary. When sta-
tionary the freewheel device shifts into forwards
or reverse gear depending on the direction of
movement of the pedals.
Drive is smoothly re-engaged when the rider
resumes pedalling, providing excellent control –
both forwards and backwards. The speed of the
car can be controlled and reduced by means of
the handbrake on the right-hand side (see illus-
tration 3).
Use of the Audi Kids Car
The Audi Kids Car is a toy, which does not com-
ply with the requirements of the German Road
Traffic Type Approval Act (StVZO) or the German
Vehicle Licensing Act (FZV). It must therefore
not be used on public roads but only in a suit-
able and fenced private play area. It must not
be used for driving downhill or on steep terrain,
as otherwise it may not be possible to bring the
children's pedal car safely to a standstill and
there is a high risk of injury. The Audi Kids Car
must not be used for racing or for competitions
of any other sort. It is suitable for individuals
from 95 cm to 130 cm in height, and up to a
maximum weight of 30 kg. It is not permis-
sible for other persons to ride on the car at the
same time. When operating the Audi Kids Car,
the rider's feet must remain on the pedals at all
times and both hands must remain on the steer-
ing wheel, as otherwise there is a risk of injury.
Children must in particular be instructed in the
safe operation of the brake and be alerted to the
possibility that improper use may result in fin-
gers etc. becoming trapped between the brake
and the wheel.
Maintenance
Please check the chain tension after a "running-
in period" of a few hours and adjust it if neces-
