STARTING
Fit press jaw/interchangeable jaw/intermediate jaw into press tool.
(See Instruction Manual for press tool)
5.
PRESSING
Instructions on opening and closing jaws
ZB201:
Both jaw levers must be actuated to open or close the jaw.
All other press jaws and intermediate jaws:
One jaw lever must be actuated for opening or closing the jaw.
Press jaw
5.1
Check whether the nominal size of the press fitting matches the
nominal size of the press jaw/segments.
5.2
Open press jaw.
5.3
Push press jaw onto press fitting and release jaw lever.
Note:
Make sure that there is no dirt, swarf, etc. in the press contour.
Failure to do so will result in pressing faults.
Note
Follow the system supplier's instructions when placing the press
jaw onto the press fitting.

Open press jaw and detach from press fitting.

Press collar
Note:
Device type 2
Use the intermediate jaw ZB 201.
Device type 3
(nominal size 76.1; 88.9 and 108 see device manual
ECO3/ECO301):
Use intermediate jaw ZB 301 or ZB 302.

Check whether nominal size of press fitting matches nominal size
of the press collar.

While pressing pin (22a) as shown [2.1], pull press collar apart and
open at catch (23).
5.8
To ensure the press collars function correctly, the sliding segments
must be free to move.
The sliding segments are always pressed back automatically into
the correct starting position by springs.
Ensure that the marking lines (M) on the sliding segments (C) and
the shells (D) are in alignment in the starting position.
If this is not the case, have the press collars repaired.
5.9
Position press collar over press fitting.
Note
Follow the system supplier's instructions when placing the press
collars onto the press fitting.
5.10 Turn catch (23) towards pin (22a) [1]. While pressing pin (22a) as
shown [2.1], push pin into catch (23) until it engages [2.2]. Pin (22a)
must be pushed in as far as possible. Turn press collar to pressing
position.
5.11 Open intermediate jaw.
