7.1. IR Repeater

ENG
R
The objective of the infrared repeater is to be able to control an
external system from different rooms using a specific remote
control (infrared remote control units with 36 KHz only).
R
Repeater unit 42795 should be installed in the same room as the
music system and as close as possible to it. The maximum
distance between repeater unit 42795 and the system it will be
controlling should not exceed 2 m.
R
Infrared transmission cable 42796 is connected between repeater
unit 42795 (to any of the three jacks) and the receiver panel of the
system to be controlled with the remote.
R
The transmission cap for transmission cable 42796 is equipped with an adhesive strip that can be attached right on the system's receiver
panel. It is important that nothing block the path between the location of the capsule and the system's infrared receiver.
R
Connect terminal 93 to unit 42795 only in the rooms from which you wish to control the remote system with its own remote control unit. If
there is a control unit in the same room as the system to be controlled DO NOT CONNECT TERMINAL 93 IN THAT UNIT (see diagram
e3.8.)
7.2. PC Interface and Line Connector
R
PC interface 43491 is designed to connect a PC to the 400 Series installation and thus convert the PC in another element of the series.
To do this you need to install EIS-400 software.
R
See
CC-1028 The 400 Series PC Interface User and Installation Manual.
R
The PC interface is connected to the PC via a COM port on the PC. It is connected to the 400 Series by means of the RJ45 connector
found on the front of the system's central unit (models 41491 or 41492).
R
An alternative option is to use the 127x1 line connector. In this case connect terminals 2, 4, 91, 92 and 7 to the installation's standard
cable line (see diagram e3.9).
R
Connect terminal 2 of the 127x1 line connector to terminal 1 of the power supply used to feed the installation (11295, 11296 or 11204). If
this is not possible, it can be connected to wire 2 of the standard cable line. In this case in order to have communication between the PC
and the installation, the installation must be fed from the central unit (41491 or 41492). If it is switched OFF, no communication will be
possible.
R
See
CC-1034 The 400 Series User and Installation Manual (ENG)
R
Terminal 7 of the 127x1 line connector does not have to be connected if you do not wish to transmit and receive intercom calls from the
PC. In this case audio jack connection between the PC interface and the PC will not be necessary either.

7.3. Intercom Microphone Base for the 400 Series

R
The intercom microphone base is connected to 400 series control units (compact and modular) as shown in diagram e3.11.
R
Each zone identification number is the number defined for each control unit. The microphone base's identification number is programmed
right on the microphone base.
R
Several microphone bases can be installed in a single installation.

7.4. Telephone intercom interface

R
The telephone intercom interface unit (43492) allows the user to make intercom calls from a 400 Series system using a telephone
connected to a switchboard.
R
Simply connect the 43492 unit to an extension on the switchboard as shown in figure e3.12.

7.5. Entryphone intercom interface

R
Install one entryphone intercom interface (43494) per existing entryphone intercom when connecting a 400 series unit with one or several
entryphone(s) intercom as shown in diagram e3.13.

8. Microphone Preamplifier

R
Install the microphone preamplifier unit (123x4) as close to the microphone as possible. Specifically, an asymmetrical line microphone
should not be installed any further away than 7 m (see diagram e4.1).
R
The microphone can be connected to either the terminal (back connection) or the 6.35 mm connecting jack (front connection).
R
If coming from another amplifier, select LINE. Otherwise select MIC.
R
Connect the microphone line out (XO) to the music channel line you wish to use as microphone preamplifier.
ā
In the 90 Series, connecting XO to terminals 5 + 6 will have the control unit regulating the signal generated in the microphone
preamplifier.
ā
In two-channel New 100 Series control units connecting XO to terminals 15 + 16 or 26 + 26 will yield the microphone preamplifier
signal to music channels 1 or 2 respectively. The other channel will be available to connect a music channel.
ā
In a four-channel control unit (32195) the microphone preamplifier signal can be connected to terminal 35 or 45 so that the
microphone signal is available on channel 3 or 4 respectively and channels 1 and 2 will be available to connect to a two-channel
stereo central unit (31191 or 31193).
ā
The microphone preamplifier signal in the 400 Series can be connected to terminals 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 60, making the
microphone preamplifier signal available on channels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 respectively. Note that access to the music channels can
be limited in 400 Series installations. See
