The charger is designed to operate on standard household electrical power (240 V). Do no attempt to use
any other voltage.
The battery pack is not fully charged out of the carton. First read the safety instructions and then follow
the charging notes and procedures.
The longest life and best performance can be obtained if the battery pack is charged when the air
temperature is between 18-24
o
above 40
C. This is important and will prevent damage to the battery pack.
Do not incinerate the battery pack even if it Is seriously damaged or is completely worn out. The battery
can explode into fire.
Never attempt to open the battery pack for any reason. If the plastic housing of the battery pack breaks or
cracks, immediately discontinue use and do not recharge.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR HEDGE TRIMMERS
This appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm person unless they have been
adequately supervised by a responsible person to ensure that they can use the appliance safely.
Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the trimmer.
Keep all parts of the body away from the cutter blade. Do not remove cut material or hold material to be
cut when the hedge trimmer is switched on. Please switch off the hedge trimmer when clearing jammed
material. Any attempt to touch the blade while operating the hedge trimmer may result in serious
personal injury.
Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the cutter blade stopped. Please ensure the blade cover (9)
has been slipped on when the hedge trimmer is not in use. Proper handling of the hedge trimmer will
reduce possible personal injury from the cutter blades
The battery (6) has been shipped in a low charge condition and requires charging prior to use.
Plug the charger (8) into a mains power outlet.
The Power light on the charger (8) will turn green showing that power is being supplied to the charger.
Slide the battery into the charger. See fig 8
The battery only fits one way.
The charging light on charger (8) will turn red when the battery is under charging.
The charging light charger (8) will turn green when the battery is fully charged.
A battery (6) takes 1hour to charge. Charging starts automatically. Slide the battery out from the charger
after no more than 90minutes
Remove the charger from the mains power outlet when charger is not in use.
If the battery is completely discharged, 90minutes charging time will be required to fully recharge it.
Remove the battery by pressing the release button on the battery and slide out of the charger.
Important charger notes:
The charger and battery may become warm to touch while charging. This is a normal condition and does
not indicate a problem.
Use the charger at normal room temperature whenever possible. Don't charge the battery in direct
sunlight or near heat sources or moisture place. The charging light will flash in green and red alternately
when the charger becomes too hot and it then stops charging.
If the battery doesn't charge properly:

Check current at the mains power outlet by plugging in a lamp or other appliance. If problems
persist, have the complete tool checked by an electrician or a power tool repairer.
