BATTERY SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Do not charge alkaline batteries.
• Do not short battery terminals.
• Do not mix new and old batteries. Replace all batteries
at the same time.
• Use only manufacturer recommended batteries.
• Do not mix the brand or type of batteries.
• Properly dispose of all batteries at a recycling center
or per local code. More information regarding battery
disposal in U.S. and Canada is available at; http://www.
rbrc.org/index.html, or by calling 1-800-822-8837
(1-800-8BATTER)
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
• Keep batteries out of reach of children.
• Remove batteries if the tool will not be used for several
months.
• Install batteries in the correct polarity. Positive (+) and
Negative (-) polarity are marked on the battery and the
tool.
PREPARATION

BAtteRY INstALLAtIoN

1. Push tab to open battery compartment cover (8).
2. Insert batteries with the correct polarity. Match the (+)
and (-) symbol on the inside of the compartment with
the corresponding symbol on the batteries.
3. Close the battery compartment cover.
OPERATION
This tool is intended to project leveled horizontal line
and vertical plumb lines. It can also be used for general
alignment purposes.
The tool is designed for indoor use.
Extreme temperature changes can reduce the accuracy
of the laser. Allow the tool to adjust to the ambient
temperature of the work environment before using. Do not
subject the laser to extremely cold or hot environments.
Make reference marks at the center of the laser line or
laser point.
Turn the tool off when not in use.

sWItcHING oN/oFF

The tool has a Line Mode and a Point Mode.
1. Push the On/Off Switch (3) forward to activate the Line
Mode.
2. Pull On/Off Switch backward to activate the Point Mode.
3. Place the On/Off Switch in the center position to turn
the tool off.

BUBBLe VIALs
There are two Bubble Vials on the tool. One is for horizontal
leveling. The other is for vertical leveling. The reference
is accurate only when the tool is properly attached on
the Base or placed with its Aluminum Surface (16) as the
supporting side.
cAUtIoN:
the liquid with an absorbent material and dispose of it
safely. Bubble Vials contain flammable liquid that may
cause respiratory, eye and skin irritation.
MoUNtING BAse
With the Mounting Base included, the tool can be placed
on a flat surface, fastened to a wall, or mounted to a tripod.
Attaching the Base to a wall
There are 5 methods to fasten the Base to the wall.
1. Use Adhesive Tape (not included) to fasten the base on
a wall. See figure 2 A. Use Painter's Tape if available to
avoid causing damage to the wall.
2. Place two Push Pins (not included) through the Pin
Holes (15). See figure 2 B.
3. Use removable Adhesive Strips (not included). The
base can be fastened to sensitive or dedicate surface
without damaging it.
4. Put a small screw (not included) in the wall with the
screw head protruding approximately 1/8". Insert the
Wall Key opening (14) over the screw head and slide
the Base downward so the screw head is captured in
the narrow portion of the opening.
5. Apply Adhesive Putty (not included) to the wall and
firmly press the Base so that it imbeds into the
Attaching the Tool to the Mounting Base
• For wall applications, place the tool on the Base with
the Magnets (7) facing the Line Metal Surface (11)
and the Aluminum Surface (16) facing the Point Metal
Surface (12 ). See figure 3.
• For horizontal point applications, place the tool on
the Base with the Magnets (7) facing the Point Metal
Surface (12) and the Aluminum Surface facing the Line
Metal Surface (11). See figure 5.
NOTE:
Always use the Aluminum Surface (16) as the
supporting side for leveling. All other surfaces of the
tool, including the backside surface, are not designed as
references for leveling. See figure 6.
Adjusting the Mounting Base
• The upper part of the Mounting Base can be rotated to
align the tool to be levelled or angled.
• For horizontal point applications, use the Adjustment
Screw (10) to level the tool.

If a Bubble Vial leaks, soak up
putty.
