The EcoDrift is for under water operation, only. The max. water depth is 1 m | 40 in. We recommend to
place the pump at least 10 cm | 4 in beneath the surface to prevent the pump from pulling air. The EcoDrift is
designed as a current pump, thus cannot be connected to any piping. The pump has a ceramic bearing, which
has a break-in period of a few days. During that time a slightly higher noise level may be noticed.
Mounting the EcoDrift pump: The pump is mounted to the aquarium glass with its magnet holder. Once the
location of the pump is determined and the area is prepared for placement, please follow these instructions:
Carefully disconnect the external magnet (Fig. 1, No. 9) from the pump holder without dislodging the vibration
dampener (Fig. 1, No. 7) from the pump holder (Fig. 1, No. 6). Now, the pump with the holder has to be placed
in the aquarium at the requested place of the aquarium glass and then the second magnet has to be attached
from the outside in the correct position. Never remove the external magnet without turning off the pump
previously and hold it tight. To prevent the pump from pulling air, be sure to place it at least 10 cm | 4 in beneath
the surface. To prevent the pump from disturbing the sand bed, avoid mounting it too close, or pointing it to the
bottom of the aquarium. The pump can be adjusted in any direction by simply turning the magnet (Fig. 1, No.
9), be sure to hold the pump preventing it from falling, as well as turning the pump in its holder (Fig. 1, No. 6).
Note: Even though the pump comes with a strong magnet holder that holds the pump securely in place, we
recommend to place the pump away from expensive animals in case it becomes dislodged from the aquarium
glass.
The pump is open at the front. Avoid operating the pump via a timer. Small animals could enter the pump
while it is shut-off, and could cause damage to the pump and animals when starting.
Safety instructions
The pump is constructed for indoor aquarium use only. The connection cable and the power plug
must not be replaced. If the power cable is damaged, the pump must be scrapped.
