Interactions
▸ Never allow the material to come into contact with organic solvents or liquids
containing solvents as this may result in a swelling of the material and may
therefore lead to inaccuracies.
▸ Avoid contact with retraction solutions, because in some instances residues of
retraction solutions can increase the setting time. Remove retraction solutions
by spraying and rinsing thoroughly.
▸ Do not mix the material with condensation curing silicone or polyether impression
materials.
▸ Avoid contact between the impression material and latex gloves because these
prevent the setting process. In the event of prior contact between the hands
and latex gloves, wash hands thoroughly. It is recommended that PVC or PE
based gloves be used.
Using the Automix cartridge
Insert cartridge
1. Push up the lever [Fig. 1, Pos. A] at the back of the Automix dispenser and pull
back the slide [Fig. 1, Pos. B] completely.
2. Lift up the plastic lever [Fig. 1, Pos. C], insert the cartridge and lock it using the
plastic lever [Fig. 1, Pos. C].
Please note: Make sure that the notches on the cartridge line up with those on
the Automix dispenser.
Attach mixing tip
1. Remove the cartridge cap [Fig. 1, Pos. D] or used mixing tip by turning it 90°
counterclockwise, and discard it.
2. Attach a new mixing tip [Fig. 1, Pos. E].
Please note: In order to attain an optimum mixing result, DMG recommends the use
of the mixing tips available from DMG. All mixing tips are also available as refill packs.
Please note: Make sure that the notches on the mixing tip line up with those on
the cartridge.
3. Turn the mixing tip clockwise 90° to lock it.
Applying the material
▸ When using a cartridge for the first time, squeeze out a pea-sized amount of
material and discard it.
▸ The material is mixed in the mixing tip by pulling the trigger [Fig. 1, Pos. F] of
the Automix dispenser and it is then applied directly.
Please note: After the application, leave the used mixing tip on the cartridge to
cap unused material!
Remove cartridge
1. Push up the lever [Fig. 1, Pos. A] at the back of the Automix dispenser and pull
back the slide [Fig. 1, Pos. B] completely.
2. Lift up the plastic lever [Fig. 1, Pos. C] and remove the cartridge.
Recommended use
Create bite registration
1. Apply the bite registration material directly to the occlusal surfaces. If necessary,
apply to prepared areas first.
Please note: It is usually sufficient to apply the material to the teeth of the upper
or lower dental arch. In the area of the front teeth, it is recommended that the
material be applied to both dental arches. A material layer approx. 5 mm thick should
be sufficient.
2. Allow patient to adopt the desired occlusion.
3. After 1:30 min., carefully remove the finished bite registration from the mouth.
Process bite registration
Please note: The material has a high final hardness and can be processed with a
rotating instrument (e.g. grinder). Immediately after removal, excess can also be
removed with a scalpel.
1. Remove excess material extending beyond the cast chewing surface areas.
2. Remove shreds of material which extend into the approximal areas.
Disinfection of the bite registration
▸ Disinfect bite registration with standard disinfection solutions.
Storage of the bite registration
Special storage conditions are not required. The bite registration can be stored for
a long period of time.
Disinfection of the Automix dispenser
The Automix dispenser is reusable after disinfection, although it should be replaced
if visible signs of wear appear.
