Solution
Connect the machine to the power
source.
Preheat the portafilter (section 5.1).
Preheat the cups on the warming plate
or warm with hot water.
Ensure the steam wand is clean and
the air hole at the top is clear.
Use cold milk.
Prime the water circuit as described in
section 4.5.
Add espresso (section 5).
Use a finer grind of espresso; make
sure you are using the back pressure
adapter (rubber gasket adapter) for
single and double shots.
Use fresh ground espresso.
Refill tank with water (section 4.4).
Use a coarser grind.
Shake the ground espresso in the
portafilter.

Close the knob (6) by turning it
