USE OF THE WAFFLE PLATES (type PL–101, PL–102)
Important:
Wait until the plates are at the correct temperature. Always prepare the pastry and
batter at room temperature.
Batter:
Use a ladle to pour sufficient batter onto the mould surface of the lower plate. Turn the
waffle iron straight away in order to spread the batter over the whole surface of the
plates;
Pastry:
Knead two pastry balls and place these in the middle of the plates. Ensure that the
pastry is evenly divided. Close the apparatus. The pastry will now press itself into the
mould of the other plate.
When half the baking time has elapsed, the apparatus can be turned so that both
waffles are browned evenly on both sides. When the waffles are ready, remove them,
preferably with a two–pronged fork. When you do this, be sure that you do not
damage the non–stick surface. The plates will be slightly forced apart by steam
pressure during baking. This is completely normal. For this reason, the locking grip on
the handgrips should not be closed during baking. Bake at the correct temperature,
otherwise the waffles will stick. Do not open the waffle iron too quickly, as the waffles
may tear.
USE OF THE TOASTED SANDWICH PLATES (type PL–100)
Wait until the plates are at the correct temperature. Place one half of the bread on the
lower plate, then the filling on top, and then the upper half of the bread on top of the
filling. Close the apparatus and lock the grip. The toasted sandwich will be ready after
about 3 minutes. Remove the toasted sandwich preferably with a wooden or plastic
spatula to avoid damaging the non–stick layer.
CLEANING
FIRST REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE WALL SOCKET
Clean the apparatus after every use. First, let it cool down completely. Clean the outer
sides with a damp cloth. The plates can be cleaned with soapy water and rinsed with
tap water. Do not attempt to clean the non–stick surface using sharp metal objects or
aggressive cleansing agents. If the plates are very dirty, they can be soaked for half an
hour in warm soapy water.
DAMAGE TO THE PLATES BY SHARP OBJECTS IS NOT COVERED BY THE
GUARANTEE!
NOVA ADVICE
• Place the apparatus on a solid and stable surface which is also heat resistant. Never
submerge the apparatus in water or any other liquid.
• The exterior of the apparatus gets hot, therefore only grasp it by the handle.
• Take care that the apparatus is not too close to the edge of a table, working surface,
etc. where someone might knock it off; make sure that the
lead does not hang in such a way that someone may trip
over it.
• Do not use the apparatus if it is damaged or if the lead is
