500 HOUR SCHEDULE
1. AIRINTAKEFILTER.Removeandwashthefilterelement
withamilddetergent,drythoroughlyandreplace.Donot
oilthefilterelement.Ifyourheaterisusedwherethere
isconsiderabledustordirt,cleanasoftenasnecessary
(approximatelyevery50hrs.).
2. REMOVEDUST.Cleanheatertwiceaseason(moreoften
underdustyconditions).Removeaccumulateddustfromthe
transformer,burner,motorandfanbladeswithcompressed
air.Wipeareacleanwithacleandrycloth.Inspectareato
insureallforeignmaterialsareremoved,especiallyaround
theburnerandcombustionarea.
3. CADCELL.Cleantheglassportionofthecadcellwithasoft
drycloth.
4. NOZZLE.Accumulationofdirtfromfuelandcarbonfromthe
compressorvaneswilleventuallyfillupthepassagesinthe
nozzle,resultinginreductionoffuelandairflow.Pressure
willgraduallyincreasegivingimproperfuel-airmixtureand
excessodorandsmoke.Ifthisoccurs,replacethefuel
nozzle.
5. FUELTANK.Cleantwiceaseason(duringfrequentlyused
periods,cleantwiceamonth).Drainandflushthefueltank
withcleanfueloil.
ANNUAL SCHEDULE
1. AIROUTPUTFILTER.Removetheairoutputfilterandtap
thecontaminatedsidegentlyonasolidobjecttoremove
contaminates.Compressedairorliquidsshouldnotbeused
tocleanthisfilter.Reinstallcleanedfilterinfilterbodyinthe
samepositionasitwaswhenremoved.Ifthefilterappears
extremelydirty,replaceitwithanewfilterofthesametype.
Whenreplacingthefiltercover,besurethegasketisfirmly
inplaceandthescrewsinthefiltercoveraretighttoprevent
airleaks.
2. FUELFILTER.Removethefuelfilterfromfuellineanddirect
compressedairthroughthefilterintheoppositedirection
offuelflow.Safetyglassesshouldbewornwhenusing
compressedair.
3. AIRANDFUELLINES.Iftheairorfuellinesareremoved
duringcleaning,besureallconnectionsaretightbefore
operatingunit.
STORAGE
Storetheheaterinadrylocationfreefromfumesordust.
Attheendofeachheatingseason,cleantheheaterasdescribed
intheMAINTENANCEsection.Drainandflushthefueltankwith
cleanfuel.Themanufacturerrecommendscompletelyfillingthe
tankwithfuelforextendedstoragetominimizecondensation
insidethetank.
SERVICING
Ahazardousconditionmayresultifaheaterisusedthathasbeen
modifiedorisnotfunctioningproperly.
Whentheheaterisworkingnormally:

Theflameiscontainedwithintheheater.
* Theflameisessentiallyyellow.
*
Thereisnostrongdisagreeableodor,eyeburningorother
physicaldiscomfort.
*
Thereisnosmokeorsootinternalorexternaltotheheater.
*
Therearenounplannedorunexplainedshutdownsofthe
heater.
