5. MEASUREMENT OF AC INTENSITY
Set the switch to the A AC function : automatic selection
of the 2 ranges.
Press the trigger to open the jaws of the clamp and
enclose a single conductor.
Record the measurement, if necessary, by pressing
one of the HOLD keys.
Display the max. value, if necessary, by pressing the
MAX key.
The F11N clamp measures the average value and
displays the rms value (only for a sinusoidal current).
The measurement will be false if the current is
distorted (non sinusoidal).
The F13N, on the other hand, gives the rms value
whatever the current : distorted or sinusoidal.
At approximately 400A and above, there may be
slight vibration of the jaws, but this does not affect
the measurement in any way.
6. MEASUREMENT OF VOLTAGE
Set the switch to the required V ~ or V ... function :
automatic selection of the 2 ranges.
Connect the red lead to the + terminal and the black
lead to the COM terminal and then connect up to the
element to be measured.
Record the measurement, if necessary, by pressing
one of the HOLD keys.
Display the max. value, if necessary, by pressing the
MAX button.
The F13N gives the rms value whatever the voltage:
distorted or sinusoidal.
7. MEASUREMENT OF MAX VALUE
Set the switch to the A~, V~ or V ... function.
Press the MAX key.
Proceed in the same way as for intensity or voltage
measurements.
The MAX positive value is displayed.
