11.1 TROUBLESHOOTING GENERAL
FAULT
variations in the height of cut grass across the
width of cut
Grass is cut unevenly in wavy or hummocky
fashion
Grass is torn off, instead of being cut evenly
Grass is removed entirely and mower labours
Engine races but mower moves forwards
sluggishly
Cuttings not entering the grass box properly

REMEDY
Front rolls are not square with bottom blade.
Make necessary adjustment as per instruction in
section 9.1
Alignment of cutting cylinder has been upset,
probably through running into an obstruction.
Consult your local service centre.
Adjust cutting cylinder to bottom blade. See
section 9.3. If grass is still not cut cleanly, the
cylinder blades require sharpening. Consult
your local service centre.
The bottom blade is set to low.
Raise height of cut. See section
The cylinder may have run into an obstruction.
Stop the engine and clear any debris. If no
obstruction is present the problem may be due to
clutch slip. Consult your local service centre.
Adjust the concave to obtain a better throw of
grass cuttings. section 9.4.
