with a new one. DO NOT use a blowing tool to clean as the movement of dirt may damage the
engine.
■ Adjust spark plug gap by bending outer electrode (Fig. 35).
Outer Electrode
0.026 in. (0.65 mm)
■ Reinstall the cleaned or a new spark plug by turning it clockwise into place (Fig. 36).
■ Reinstall the spark plug cap into place.
■ Reinstall the spark plug cover and secure it with the hex wrench.
NOTICE: Be careful not to cross-thread the spark plug. Cross-threading will seriously damage the
product.
LUBRICATION
(See Fig. 37)
Gear Box Housing
■ Clean all loose debris from the gear case.
■ Remove the screw and check the level of grease (Fig. 37).
■ Add grease if necessary. DO NOT over-fill.
STORAGE
Clean the trimmer of any debris and store indoors in a dry, well-ventilated area that is inaccessible
to children. Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden chemicals and de-icing salts.
Abide by all ISO and local regulations for the safe storage and handling of gasoline.
Storing for 30 days or longer:
Drain all the fuel from the tank into a container approved for storing gasoline. Press the primer bulb
3 - 4 times to remove the remaining fuel from the carburetor. Run the engine until it stops.
