INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
General
The "AL-KO SAFETY PREMIUM" can also be
used while driving.
In the case of AKS 1300, the side stabi-
lisation lever will not close with the anti-
theft device!
Attaching the safety hood
1. Evenly insert internal guide rail (3-1) into cut-
out (3-2) of the attached left and right locking
plates until the stop.
2. Swing away protective cover of the locking cy-
linder (5).
3. Insert the key into the locking cylinder and turn
to the right.
✓ The locking pin comes out.
4. Insert locking bolt (4-1) .
5. Turn the key to the right, insert the locking cy-
linder, turn the key to the left to lock the lo-
cking pin (5).
6. Remove the key and close the protective co-
ver.
Removing the safety hood
The safety hood is removed in reverse order.
1. Swing away protective cover of the locking cy-
linder.
2. Insert key and turn to the right until the stop
(60°).
✓ The locking cylinder comes out on its own.
3. Remove the locking bolt.
4. Remove the safety hood from above.
5. Store the safety hood in the towing vehicle or
in the trailer.

Storage
Before storage:
Insert locking bolt.
Lock locking cylinder.
Remove key.
Swivel protective cover over the locking cy-
linder.

CAUTION!
Danger of damage!
The safety hood must never be atta-
ched or removed using a hammer!
MAINTENANCE
Hooking and locking mechanism
1. The hooking profile, left and right locking rails
as well as the cut-out in the attached left
and right locking plates should be cleaned of
heavy soiling and then lightly lubricated.
2. Use a rag to remove any excess grease so
that only a thin layer of grease remains.
Checking the locking cylinder for ease of mo-
vement
1. Occasionally operate the locking cylinder of
the removed safety hood and check for ease
of movement.
2. If it doesn't function smoothly, then use a spe-
cial spray for locking cylinders (available in
specialist shops).
Removing and installing the locking cylinder
1. Loosen the hexagon socket screws through
the back of the locking cylinder (9-1) .
2. Remove the locking cylinder.
3. Install in the reverse sequence.
When installing, do not forget the interior
compression spring!
