Britax Child Safety, Inc.
Harness Mode: Lower Anchors
Before you begin:
•
Check that your vehicle has lower anchors.
Use the vehicle belt (not lower connectors) for
harness mode installations with children who weigh
more than 45 lbs (20.4 kg).
•
Check that your vehicle has a top tether anchor.
•
Britax recommends that the top tether be used at all
times when installing the child seat. Using the top
tether will improve the stability of your child seat and
reduce the risk of injury. Check your vehicle owner's
manual for tether anchor locations.
•
Loosen the tether and place it over the child seat
back to keep it from becoming pinned between the
child seat and vehicle seat during installation.
•
Adjust the child seat to desired position and place
forward facing on the vehicle seat.
1. Pull seat cover and seat
pan forward to access the
lower connectors.
2. Route the lower connector
strap along the green belt
path behind the seat pan
and firmly press the lower
connectors onto their
adjacent lower anchors.
NOTE: Verify that the
strap is not twisted.
3. Push the child seat firmly
into the vehicle seat while
removing any slack from
the lower connector strap
to remove slack.
NOTE: The child seat
is secure when it cannot be moved front-to-back or
side-to-side more than 1 in (2.5 cm) at the belt path.
If the child seat is not secure, repeat the installation
procedure or use a different seating location.
