Application
Can be used in conjunction with:
• Pressurised storage heaters
• Thermally controlled instantaneous heaters
• Hydraulically controlled instantaneous heaters
Operation with low-pressure displacement water heaters is
not possible.
Specifications
• Flow pressure
- min.
- recommended
• Operating pressure
• Test pressure
If static pressure is greater than 5 bar, fit pressure reducer.
Avoid major pressure differences between hot and cold water
supply.
• Flow rate at 3 bar flow pressure:
• Temperature
Hot water inlet (maximum):
Recommended (energy saving):
• Water connection
Installation
Flush pipes thoroughly!
Installation and connection, see fold-out page III, Fig. [1].
The hot water supply must be connected on the left and the
cold water supply on the right as viewed from the operating
position.
Open hot and cold water supplies.
Check connections for leakage.
Check fitting for correct operation.
Operation, see Fig. [2].
Caution
Do not lift the lever, the security mixer opens by turning the
lever.
Turn lever right
Turn lever left
The water temperatur increses on turning from left to right from
cold- through mixed- to hot water.
Temperature limiter
On delivery, the temperature limiter (hot water stop), which is
fitted as standard, is inoperative (see position 1, Fig. [4]).
If it is required to limit the hot water temperature in order to
prevent the risk of scalding, proceed as follows:
1. Turn lever (B) left (mixer closed), see Fig. [3].
2. Lever out plug (C).
3. With a 4mm hexagon key, loosen screw (D).
4. Take off lever (B).
5. Take off temperature limiter (E) and refit in the position with
the desired water temperature, see Fig. [4].
Possible settings:
There are 6 positions to select from.
Position 1
The leading edge (G) of the temperature limiter (E) is in a line
with the mark (H) on the cartridge, the maximum turning angle
is 90° (Setting as supplied).
Position 2 - 6
By moving the temperature limiter (E) to left the temperature of
the outflowing water can be reduced in steps and the turning
angle is reduced.
The maximum temperature setting does not always give an
exactly specified temperature, since the temperature of the
outflowing mixed water is affected by variations in the hot and
0.5 bar
1 - 5 bar
cold water supply temperatures, pressure differentials and
max. 10 bar
installation conditions.
16 bar
Flow limiter
The flow limiter is factory set for the greatest flow.
To reduce the rate of the outflowing water please proceed as
follows:
approx. 8 l/min
Take off lever, as described in temperature limiter point
1 - 4.
80 °C
60 °C
Change flow rate by turning hexagon socket screw clockwise
hot - left
with a 2.5mm socket spanner.
cold - right
Turn clockwise (to reduce flow) or anticlockwise (to increase
flow), see Fig. [5].
Mounting of lever, see Fig. [6].
After setting of flow and temperature the lever is replaced
relative to the marking A on the cartrige. The lever will be
positioned in such a way that the fixing screw (D) is screwed
against the face marked A.
Maintenance
I. Cartridge, see Fig. [7].
1. Shut off the hot and cold water supplies!
2. Lever out plug (C).
3. With a 4mm hexagon key, loosen fixing screw (D).
4. Take off lever (B).
5. Take off temperature limiter (E).
6. Remove screws (J) and cartridge (K).
7. Replace cartridge (K) or seals (K1) if necessary.
Reassemble in the reverse order.
= opening (water flow)
Take care that the cartridge seals (K1) engage in the grooves
= closing
in the housing. Insert screws (J) and tighten alternately.
Mounting of lever, see Fig. [6].
II. Remove and clean the flow straightener (13 960).
Reassemble in the reverse order.
Inspect and clean all parts, replace as necessary and grease
with special valve grease (order No. 18 012).
Replacement parts, see fold-out page II ( * = special
accessories).
Care
For directions on the care of this security mixer, please refer to
