8. Cell Maintenance

If water temperature is below 1°C (5°F), switch off the Salt Chlorinator to protect the cell.
Note: This section can also be applicable if you have a Poolmaid Automatic Supreme
Self-Cleaning Salt Chlorinator, especially if you have very hard or borehole
water
In order to ensure the optimal functioning of the chlorinator, the cell needs to be cleaned
periodically at least once a month.
Recommended cleaning procedure
STEP 1
Cleaning of the cell
Should the cell need cleaning, switch off the pool pump and chlorinator.
STEP 2

Remove cell cover (1)

Unscrew ring nut ()
STEP 3
a.
Remove electrode holder (6). (Cell cable can be disconnected from power supply
controller).
Note: The black anode plates remain free of any build-up and will never have to be
cleaned. Take extreme care not to scratch or damage the black plates. Damage
to the anodes as a result of cleaning is not covered by the warranty.
Build-up may occur on self-cleaning cells with borehole or very hard water.
Follow the cleaning method below.
