5. Safety instructions
Attention! Please read these instructions carefully before connecting and commis-
sioning the device. The operational safety and function of the device can only be
guaranteed if both the general statutory safety and accident prevention guidelines
and the safety information in the operating instructions are observed.
1. The device may only be used in
accordance with these operating
instructions. We do not accept any lia-
bility for damage incurred as a result
of non-designated use or incorrect
operation.
2. The voltage indicated on the rating
plate must comply with the voltage
supplied by the power source.
3. The device may only be connected
to a power outlet with a protective
conductor. Never touch the mains plug
with wet hands.
4. The power supply for Labormat
devices should only be established by
a separately-fused power supply line.
5. The device must be set up on a stable
and level surface.
6. The heating may only be switched
on and operated when the device is
filled with a sufficient volume of water.
7. The condition and operational safety
of the device must always be examined
before use. If the device is not in perfect
condition, it may no longer be used and
must be marked accordingly.

8. Do not lock the device operating ele-
ments into place.
9. The timer operating elements should
not be actively turned anticlockwise.
This overstresses the internal spring
causing the timer to wear faster.
10. When working for longer periods
of time at the maximum operating
temperature, the Labormat lid and
interior parts of the housing can heat
up to 80 °C; do not therefore touch
them even briefly except using the
designated handles.
11. Do not lean over the device when
opening the lid. Evaporation by hot
steam represents a risk of scalding.
12. Signs and labels must be kept
clearly legible and may not be
removed.
13. The device should only be cleaned
and maintained or parts removed when
the unit has cooled down. The mains
plug must be pulled.
14. Waste water should only be dis-
charged into the sewerage system at
temperatures below 75 °C. Higher tem-
peratures can damage the waste water
lines over the long term.
15. The device may only be opened
