By repeating this procedure, in time, the dog will learn
and start to obey and cease the undesirable behavior,
just by hearing the verbal command. If/When you
notice the dog does not react any more when you use
position II, switch to position I for a while, and later return
to position II, going back from one position to another

Do not abuse the use of the device. Use it only when
it is necessary, as animals eventually get used to it and
then it would have little effect. Once you have used the
device a few times, you will see that by merely showing
the dog the device, the dog will react as if you were
using it.

Testing it when not training the dog could confuse the
dog and be counter-productive.
