5 Maintenance
Risk of electric shock. Before performing any maintenance or servicing, always turn power off at service panel or
disconnect the unit from the outlet. When cleaning the unit, it is recommended to wear safety glasses and gloves.
5.1 Quarterly Maintenance
1. Disconnect unit or turn power off at service panel.
2. Open unit's door by following these steps and referring to illustration below:
A For each corner, simultaneously push on the door while pushing on the corner metal tab to disengage these tabs from the
unit frame (see inset).
B Disengage the unit door by pushing out the center tabs, one after the other.

Be careful when opening the door; water may be present
when outdoor temperature is cold.
3. While holding the core () if unit is installed in or under the ceiling,
loosen the wing nut () and rotate the core retaining bracket (shaded
part in illustration at right). Slide out the core with its filters.
If the unit is installed in or under the ceiling, always hold
the core when rotating the core retaining bracket; failure to
do so will cause the core to fall out.
4. Wash both core filters under lukewarm water with mild soap. Rinse and
let dry completely before reinstalling on the core. Refer to the core label
for proper location.
5. Slide the core with its cleaned filters in the unit. Refer to filter location
indicators embossed inside the unit to position adequately the core. Use
the core bracket and wing nut to lock the core in place.
6. Close the door and restore power.
