2.2
Staff training
The personnel installing the pump must have the appropriate
qualifications for this work.
2.3
Risks incurred by failure to comply with the safety
precautions
Failure to comply with the safety precautions could result in per-
sonal injury or damage to the pump or installation. Failure to
comply with the safety precautions could also invalidate any
claim for damages.
In particular, lack of care may lead to problems such as:
– Failure of important pump or machinery functions,
– Injury resulting from electrical or mechanical factors.
2.4
Safety precautions for the operator
Existing regulations for the prevention of accidents must be fol-
lowed.
Dangers caused by electrical energy are to be excluded. Di-
rectives conforming to the local or general regulations and the
local electricity supply companies are to be observed.
2.5
Safety information for inspection and assembly
The operator is responsible for ensuring that inspection and as-
sembly are carried out by authorised and qualified personnel
who have studied the operating instructions closely.
Work on the pump/machinery should only be carried out when
the machine has been brought to a standstill.
2.6
Unauthorized modification and manufacture of spare
parts
Alterations to the pump or installation may only be carried out
with the manufacturer's consent. The use of original spare parts
and accessories authorised by the manufacturer will ensure sa-
fety. The use of any other parts may invalidate claims invoking
the liability of the manufacturer for any consequences.
2.7
Unauthorised operating methods
The operating safety of the pump or installation supplied can
only be guaranteed if it is used in accordance with paragraph
1 of the operating instructions. The limiting values given in the
catalogue or data sheet must neither be exceeded nor allowed
to fall below those specified.

3. Transport and storage

The pump should be protected against moisture
ATTENTION!
and physical damage during transport and interim
storage.
The pump should be transported using authorised
transportation equipment. They are to be attached
to the pump flanges and if necessary to the motor
outer diameter (protection against slipping requi-
red!).
The ring bolts on the motor must only be used when
carrying a load.
The ring bolts on the motor must only be used for
transporting the motor, not the entire pump.

4. Description of product
and accessories
4.1
Description of pump
Single-stage low-pressure centrifugal pump of monobloc de-
sign. Two kinds of drive motors are optionally available:
– IEC standard motor directly coupled to pump stub shaft with
adaptor support between pump and motor (Fig.1).
– Motor with extended single motor/pump shaft (Fig.2).
Both versions feature a vibration-free compact unit. The pump
housing is of inline design with suction and discharge ports axi-
ally in line. The shaft is sealed by a mechanical seal. The pump
can be mounted directly in the sufficiently supported pipework.
Two pump heads mounted in a common housing (twin
DPL:
pump), the pump housing being of Inline design. When
used in conjunction with an automatic variable speed
controller only the base-duty pump is operated varia-
bly. The second pump remains available for parallel
operations to cover peak-load demand and additionally,
for standby duty to take over under fault conditions.
4.2
Scope of supply
– Pump / twin pump complete,
– Installation and maintenance instructions.
5. Siting/ Installation
5.1
Installation
– Siting in a dry, well ventilated envionment,
– Pump to be placed in an easily accessible position in order
to facilitate inspections and exchange.
– Minimum space of 15 cm between a surface and the motor
fan cover.
– Maxmum ambient temperature 40 °C.
– Before pump installation, all welding/soldering on the pipe
system must be completed and the pipe system be flushed
out thoroughly to be clear of all foreign matter and impurities.
– Ensure that the pump is not stressed by the pipework
– The pump can be installed in any pipe run course, horizon-
tal or vertical, as long as the motor does not face downwards.
– Arrows at the pump indicate water flow direction through the
pump.
– It is recommended to provide and install isolating valves at
suction and discharge ports of the pump in order to avoid
draining to the whole pipe system in the case of pump in-
spections or excharge.
– The lantern is equipped with a plugged tapping for a possi-
bly drain conncetion for condensation.
– When assembling pumps with all-purpose flange PN6/10 the
following guidelines are to be observed (fig. 4):
1. It is not permitted to assemble all-purpose flanges with all-
purpose flanges.
2. enclosed plain washers (pos. 1) must be used between the
screw/nut head and the all-purpose flange.
Safety elements (e.g lock washers) are not per-
