SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT READ CAREFULLY: It is important that all operators read and understand all sections of this
Tool Technical Data manual and the separate Safety and Operating Instruction Manual which come with
this tool. Failure to do so could result in you or others in the working area to be seriously injured.
WARNING! Eye protection in accordance with 89/686/EEC, and with equal or greater grade than defined
in EN166 should be used. However all aspects of operators work, environment and other type/s of machinery being used,
should also be considered when selecting any personal protection equipment. Note: Non-side shielded spectacles and
face shields alone do not provide adequate protection.
WARNING! To prevent accidental injuries:

Never place a hand or any other part of the body in fastener discharge area of tool.
●
Never point tool at yourself or anyone whether it contains fasteners or not.
●
Never engage in horseplay.
●
Never pull the trigger unless the nose is directed towards the work.
●
Always handle the tool with care.
●
This tool is intended to be used for fastening wood to wood in pallet/crate and construction applications.
DO NOT USE for fastening harder materials which could cause buckling of the fasteners and damage to the
tool. If you are unsure of the suitability of this tool for certain applications, please contact your local sales
office.
●
Do not pull the trigger or depress the trip mechanism whilst loading the tool.
●
To prevent accidental actuation and possible injury, always disconnect air supply.

moving to a different work area, as accidental actuation may occur, possibly causing injury.

The operation of this tool can cause sparks and act as a source of ignition for flammable fuels and gases.

To identify the operation type of your model, check the ID label affixed to the tool/ rear of this manual and the corresponding
table (marked ?) column L for that model.Read the corresponding section in the Safety & Operating instructions for
information of each trip type.

By the means of two different attachments the F21PL & N89RH17-2MCN can be used as either a Metal Connecting Nailer or a
standard Round Head nailer and it is important that all operators understand how the tool works with either attachment.
The tool comes with the MCN or Metal Connecting Nailer attachment fitted as standard (Fig 1a), although a normal Framing
Lower Contact Arm attachment is included inside the box to convert to a Round Head nailer if required. (Fig 1b)
To change from one type of attachment to another follow the following instructions:
a) Disconnect tool from air supply before attempting any parts disassembly and before changing the work contacting element.
b) Push in on locking button.(Fig 2)
c) Slide contact arm down until it easily detaches from the tool.
d) Depress Locking Button and fully slide the new attachment onto tool. (Fig 2)
e) Release Locking Button.
f) Make sure that the attachment is installed in the full up - position and that the locking button has returned to release position.
Note: The Metal Connector Attachment is not adjustable for depth control.
g) Check that the attachment now moves freely up and down. If not, DO NOT USE. Have tool and Attachment serviced by an
authorized service center.
h) Reverse procedure to remove Metal Connector Attachment and to install
standard framing Lower Contact Arm.
Warning! Metal Connecting nails must not be used when the Framing attachment is afixed, and Round head framing nails must not
be used when the Metal Connecting nailer attachment is affixed.
