Operating Instructions CORREX
7.2.3 Installation of the CORREX
1. Empty the storage tank, if necessary.
2. For retrofitting, remove the old protective (Mg) anode, if any.
3. If not yet existing, drill a hole with a diameter of 10.5 mm into the
flange-type cover of the hot-water strorage tank.
4. Slide the seal (4) over the thread bolt of the titanium anode (1) and pass
the anode from the inside of the tank through the fitting bore.
5. Use the insulation sleeve with collar (5) for centering the M8 stud in
the 10.5 mm bore of the flange-type cover.
6. Fasten the titanium anode together with insulation sleeve (5), washer (6),
tooth-lock washer (7) and hex nut (8).
Note: The screw fitting must be pressure-tight. The tightening torque is
8 Nm. Use a torque wrench.
7. Fit the tooth-lock washer with tab connector 6.3 x 0,8 mm (9) and fasten
with hex nut (10).
8. Refit the flange-type cover on the tank.
9. Fasten the spade terminal (11) at the end of the cable labelled "ground
connection tank" under the earthing screw of the tank. If the tank has no
earthing screw, the ground contact must be established by other reliable
means. Without a perfectly conducting galvanic connection, the

10. Push the other connector at the tank end of the cable (12) - in this case
the receptacle 6.3x0.8 mm - on the tab terminal of the tooth lock washer
of the anode.
11. Push the two-pole flat connector (13) at the other end of the connecting
cable on the connectors in the opening (14) of the plug-in potentiostat.
Point the guide lug upwards; this orientation is the only way to fix the
two-pole plug in the housing of the plug-in potentiostat without using force.
12. Plug the potentiostat (2) into a 230 V mains socket.
13. Fill the storage tank with water and check for leaks.
14. Required function check: The correct polarity must be checked by
measuring magnitude and sign of the drive potential applied with a DC-
voltmeter (e.g. digital multimeter or CorroScout
The drive potential applied must be U > +1,9 V DC, when the tank is
connected with the negative input and the titanium anode with the positive
input of the measuring instrument.
15. Check the pilot lamp in the potentiostat housing.
