9.1 Sweep / Segmental Bender Instructions
1.
For concentric bending, determine the first radius.
(C)
Degree
2.
Locate the pipe size you are bending in Chart 7. Make
per Bite
smallest radius bend first using 90° sweep bend instructions,
see Section 8.0.
30°
3.
Make all succeeding concentric bends in the same manner;
noting each succeeding radius and its corresponding A, B,
22°
and C specifcations.

9.2 Other Radii Bends
11°
For developing your own specifications for radii other than those
30°
shown in charts, use the following formula:
22°
1.
Determine the number of bites you wish to make–
18°
approximated from Chart 6.
15°
2.
Divide the total number of degrees in your required angle of
13°
bend by the number of bits. This will give you the number of
30°
degrees per bite you will need to make. (Largest degree of
22°
bend with ENERPAC sweep shoes in one bite is 30°.)
18°
3.
Multiply bend radius by .018 and number of degrees per bite
15°
from step 2 (R x .018 x degrees per bite). This will give you
13°
the spacing required between each bite.
30°
4.
Proceed to bend while following previous instructions.
