Trouble shooting
Following cases are not failure of the machine.
Check your machine before you call for service.
PROBLEM
• Machine does not sew
• Sewing advisor LCD does
not display.
• Noisy machine
• Slow speed
• Breaking needle
• Needle threader does not
work.
• Too much thread appears
on the right side of the

CAUSE
Bobbin winder shaft is on the
right side.
Not plugged in properly.
Power and light switch is turned

Lint stuck in the shuttle.
Lint stuck in the feed dog.
Needle inserted incorrectly.
Needle clamp screw too loose.
Upper thread tension is too tight.
Needle too fine for the fabric or
needle bent.
#65/9 needle is being used.
Needle is not raised to its highest
position.
Needle inserted incorrectly.
Needle bent.
Hook of needle threader is bent.
Needle guide is threaded
incorrectly.
Improper bobbin threading.
Upper thread tension is too tight.
SOLUTION
Move the bobbin winder shaft to
the left.
Plug cord into electrical outlet and
machine properly.
Turn the switch ON.
Plug cord into electrical outlet and
machine properly.
Turn the switch ON.
Clean shuttle and feed dog.
Reset needle.
Tighten needle clamp screw.
Adjust thread tension.
Use proper needle.
See page 41 for the thread and
needle that can be used.
Raise the needle to its highest
position.
Reset needle.
Insert new needle.
Use the screwdriver to straighten
the hook, so that when the needle
threader lever is pressed down,
the hook will pass through the
needle eye.
Re-thread the needle guide.
Re-thread bobbin thread.
Adjust thread tension.
