This table lists all the problems that may arise when operating the
device.
> Carry out the recommended checks and repairs in the order
shown in the table.
> If a defect should occur that is not listed in the table, or if it is
impossible to repair the defect yourself, the device should be

Malfunction
The thermal imaging
camera cannot be
switched on. In the
starting process, the
Sperber-25/-35 swit-
ches off again after
the start logo has
been displayed.
Can't be powered by
an external power
source.
The image is blurred,
with thin vertical lines
or shadows.
Low image quality/
reduced detection
range.
The image disap-
pears after a shot is
fired.
The point of impact is
not constant.

Possible reason
Batteries are too weak.
USB cable is damaged.
Calibration needed.
These problems can occur under adverse we-
ather conditions (high humidity, snowfall, rain, fog,
etc. ). At temperatures above freezing point, the
observed objects (environment and background)
usually show a higher temperature difference. This
can be displayed with correspondingly higher
contrast by the thermal imaging device. At low
outside temperatures, the observed objects cool
down to approximately the same temperature,
so that the temperature contrast is considerably
reduced and the image quality suffers as a result.
This property is due to physics and does not repre-
sent a defect in the thermal imaging camera.
Battery compartment
cover is not seated
correctly.

Correction
Insert new batteries.
Replace USB cable.
Calibrate the image
(C-button).
Check cover for tight
fit (seal should not be
visible from the outside).
Set the Eyepiece lens
as sharp as possible.
