8. PREPARE THE HOOD (DUCTED INSTALLATION ONLY)

ERTICAL ISCHARGE CONT
Using 4 no. 8 x 3/8" screws provided with hood, secure the chosen
adapter/damper to the top of the hood. Remove tape from damper flap.
Seal the adapter/damper to the hood using duct tape.

ORIZONTAL ISCHARGE
The UP27I Series range hoods are factory set to exhaust vertically. If the
horizontal discharge is chosen, remove the metal shut-off plate from the
back of the hood, by removing its 3 screws. Set aside the screws. Discard
both left and right flow deviators assembled to the metal shut-off plate.
Press the metal shut-off plate on a flat surface to completely flatten bent
flange, and install on top of hood using 3 screws previously removed plus
another no. 8 x 3/8" screw (from parts bag).
Fold down the foldable flange of the chosen adapter/damper. This flange
must be at 90° from the remaining flanges. See picture beside.
