4. USING Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, ear pro-
tectors, dust mask and protective gloves;
5. ENSURE that the illumination is adequate;
6. DO NOT USE the machine without safety guards installed;
7. KEEP the Shoe Plate of machine fi rmly supported and with pressure
on the material to be cut;
8. DO NOT PRESS in excess the machine, in the advance sense, on the
material to be cut, as this may decrease the cutting speed, ie the rotation
of the motor. ALLOW the cutting blade without forward pressure. This will
allow better cut quality and conservation of tool;
9. KEEP the free area around the material to be cut without obstacles,
avoiding accidents;
10. NOT ALLOW machine use by children or persons not trained and without
the knowledge of the information contained in this Instruction Manual;
11. USE only Band Saw Blades standarized and specifi ed by Starrett in
good state and in usage condition. OBSERVE the cutting capacity, the type
and thickness of material to be cut, according to the specifi cation of the
blade manufacturer;
13. NEVER USE hands to remove sawdust, chips or waste close the cut-
ting tool and NEVER PUT the hand under the material to be cut. REMOVE
