Compressed Air Cylinder Valves

The cylinder valves that are screwed into the MSA AUER
compressed air cylinders are type tested according to
EN 144.
The valve handwheels are fitted with rubber caps which
protect the valves against impact. Depending on the type,
they also prevent overtightening when closing by means of
knobs in the direction of rotation (slip coupling).
The valves open by turning the handwheels counterclock-
wise. In order to prevent unintentional closing during use,
the cylinder valves must be opened at least two turns. Do
not turn with force against the spindle stop in the open
position.
