Principle of operation
HPAC is part of a system, with a FIGHTER 1140/1240
heat pump and a HPAC heat exchanger module as the
principal components. FIGHTER 1140/1240 has an inte-
grated control system to control heating/cooling, inte-
grated circulation pumps and is connected via the HPAC
module to the external collector and the building's dist-
ribution system for heating and cooling.
The heat exchange from the heat source (rock, ground
or lake) takes place via a closed collector system whe-
re water mixed with antifreeze circulates to the heat
pump.
Ground water can also be used as a heat source howe-
ver, this requires an intermediate heat exchanger bet-
ween the HPAC and the ground water.
The HPAC cannot be used for docking with an oil-fired
boiler.
