3. Using the Victron Ethernet Remote
Information about your Victron system can be retrieved in four different ways:
-
Stand alone mode (the embedded website).
-
Web mode (Logging data to the Victron Remote Management website)
-
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)
-
SMS text messages.
All ways can be used simultaneously. The standalone mode is always available. The Web mode requires an internet
connection. The SMS mode is available when Ethernet Remote is registered in a GSM network.

3.1 Standalone mode

In this mode you are monitoring actual data on the via the web interface. No internet connection is necessary. By default, the IP
settings are assigned automatically via DHCP protocol. The current IP settings can be seen with the VGR Configure software.
Tip: Ask your network administrator to configure DHCP server to always provide the same IP address for your VER. The
Ethernet MAC address (6 hexadecimal bytes separated by colons) is located on the underside of the modem. Another options
is to assign a static IP settings with the help of VGR Configure software.
Start a web browser on the PC, type the IP address of your VER in the browser's address field and the start VER page should
appear. For example:
