Starting the Engine
Engine ignition is controlled by a two position switch mounted on the throttle housing labeled, "I" for ON or START and
"O" for OFF or STOP.
WARNING!
The cutting attachment will operate immediately when the engine starts and could result in loss of con-
trol and possible serious injury. Keep movable parts of the cutting attachment away from objects that could
become entangled or thrown.
WARNING!
Never start the engine from the operating position.
The cutting attachment will move when the engine accelerates!
The blade cover is used for transportation and storage. Remove blade
cover before using the unit.

Slide the ignition switch to the "ON" position.

Set the throttle lever to the "fast idle":
a.
Depress and hold the throttle lock, then squeeze the throttle lever
toward the handgrip on the shaft tube.

Depress and hold the fast idle button.
c.
While depressing the fast idle button, release the throttle trigger.
Press the primer bulb until fuel can be seen flowing in the transparent

return tube.

Set the choke lever to the CLOSED position if engine is cold.

Place the unit on the ground. Grip the engine cover with your left hand and
the starter handle with your right hand (shown).
The primer system only pushes fuel through the carburetor. Repeatedly
pressing the primer bulb will not flood the engine with fuel.
