SKIRT HEIGHT AND OPERATION CHECK
1.
Drive the machine on a level fl oor that is suitable for checking the skirt height.
2.
Engage the parking brake.
3.
Turn the ignition switch (72) to "0".
Side skirt check
1.
Check the side skirts (16 and 17) for integrity. Replace the skirts when they have cuts (A, Fig. 11) larger than 0.8 in (20
mm) or cracks (B) larger than 0.4 in (10 mm) (for skirt replacement, refer to the Service Manual).
2.
Check that distance from the ground of the side skirts (16 and 17) is within 0 – 0.1 in (0 – 3 mm) (Fig. 12). If necessary,
adjust the skirt height according to the following procedure:
Left skirt:
1.
Loosen the knob (A, Fig. 14) and remove the broom left door (A, Fig. 15), pulling it upwards to disengage the fasteners (B).
2.
Adjust the height of the skirt (C) by using the slots (D).
3.
Assemble the components in the reverse order of disassembly.
Right skirt:
1.
Remove the main broom, as shown in the relevant paragraph.
2.
Open the machine hood (10) and engage the hood support rod (43).
3.
Remove the belt (54) from the pulley (55); for an easier removal, turn the pulley (55) by manually operating on the vacuum
fan (56).
4.
Remove the screws (27) and the right lid (26) together with the belt (54). Adjust the height of the skirt (A, Fig. 16) by using
the slots (B).
5.
Assemble the components in the reverse order of disassembly.
