Instructions For Use Protective-tube lights
ENG
Mounting
The light is mounted by means of
two suitable pipe clamps or directly
at the side part (only in case of side
part type B).
A large assortment of extra fasten-
ing elements is available from the
manufacturer.
When using mounting elements
which have not been proposed by
the manufacturer, the user has to
verify their reliability.

Opening the light
Side part type A or B
After loosening the 3 screws on the
connection side of the light (approx.
3-4 turns), the light column can be
removed (see fig. 2a and 2b).
Side part type C
To open the light, turn the outer
rotary ring (connection side) coun-
terclockwise while holding the
counter piece with a straight pin
(see Fig. 2c), if necessary.
Important! Clean the seals after
you have detached and reattached
the lateral parts.
Connecting the light
For lights without mains cable or
plug, the ballast unit is connected
to the terminal strip inside the
light. In this connection, please
note the connection examples
on page 9 and 10 as well as the
corresponding instructions on the
ballast unit itself.
Optionally, the light is delivered
with a lateral connector. For these
lights, the device box is enclosed
in the delivery.
To connect the light, pull the side
part out of the light tube (see
"Opening the light"). Pull the lamp
holder slightly out of the light tube
and remove the cover. Then con-
nect the cable to the terminal.
Assembly takes place in reverse
order. It must be made sure, how-
ever, that latchets and pins of the
side part are in the right position
relative to the sheet metal parts.
Putting into operation
Before putting the light into opera-
tion, the user has to check whether
the mains voltage is identical to the
rated voltage and frequency speci-
fied on the rating plate.
Operation
The standard equipment of the
light does not include a switch of
its own. It is usually switched on/off
via an external switch.
