GENERAL INFORMATION

Jacuzzi
shower enclosures and combined models come out
of the factory complete and tested. Their various elements,
however, are packaged separately, in order to facilitate their
transportation and introduction in the room where they are to
be installed. When the packages arrive, you should always
check whether they are intact, in order to be able, if neces-
sary, to lodge a complaint against the forwarding agent.
Provision has been made only for a corner installation, on
finished (tiled, etc.) walls without skirting. The "Double J-
Dream" model and some of the combined shower models
can also be installed at the centre of the wall (see the
instructions in the paragraphs below). Installation in a
recess may give rise to assembly and/or maintenance prob-
lems. The "Flexa 80x80", "Flexa Tower" and "Flexa Tower
Compact", "Flexa Suite" are a separate case. Because of
their dimensions, they are not totally accessible once they
have been installed, and it may be necessary to move them
away from the wall in case of a complex servicing opera-
tion. It is advisable, therefore, not to place fixed obstacles,
such as pieces of furniture, sanitary fixtures, etc., near
enough the shower enclosures to prevent their being
shifted (see the technical sheet, ref. 6). The assembly of the
shower enclosure and/or combined model must be per-
formed following the instructions carefully. If possible, two
persons should co-operate in this operation, because the
parts to be assembled are rather heavy.
The shower enclosures of the "J-Dream 100" "Flexa 100" and
"Flexa 120" lines are available both in leftward and rightward
version: this distinction is based on the position of the seat, to the
left or to the right, as viewed by a person standing at the door.
The bath-shower combined models are also available in left and
right models ("J-Uno Twin" and "Flexa Twin" not included). The
left or right model refers to the position of the shower enclo-
sure, when standing in front of the longest tub side.
All the shower enclosures and combined models include the
panelling needed for corner installation. Most combined mod-
els have a corner shower enclosure for attachment to walls
(see relevant technical sheet); "J-Twin Premium" and "Amea
Twin Premium" can be assembled with either the shower
enclosure or the bath backrest in a corner, because, besides
the standard supplied bath panels (front panel + one side
panel), a panel for covering the shower area may be
requested. "J-Twin Premium, Amea Twin Premium and Twin
Tower" can be installed mid-wall: in this case, another side
panel for the bath must be requested. For mid-wall installa-
tion of the "Double J-Dream" shower enclosure, another
external panel with towel rail can be supplied.
All shower enclosures and combined models can be installed
on a finished floor, because the space available between the
shower tray or bath bottom and floor is enough to contain
the drainage column and related siphon/ drain-trap box
("Twin Deck" and "J-Sha Active Twin" not included).
In the shower enclosures, the drain and trap are fitted by the
manufacturer on the plate, and a 40-cm Ø flexible pipe is sup-
plied for the connection to the outlet.
In the combined models, where the drainage column is
always included, the trap is not supplied; it is possible to use
several types of traps, provided their size is adequate.
PREPARATION OF FLOOR OR WALL DRAINAGE
For all the shower enclosures it is advisable to prepare the
drainage on the wall, flush with the floor: the flexible pipe
ensures a quick and easy connection of the shower enclosure
to the outlet (ref. 1).
As regards the combined models, for some we recommend to
prepare the drainage on the floor, for others on the wall, flush
with the floor (ref. 1). The floor outlet must be at the correct
distance (height Y) from the bath drainage bore (whose
dimensions are indicated in the technical sheet), depending
on the trap to be used (not supplied).
PREPARATION OF ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
For all shower enclosures equipped with electronically-controlled
functions, and for all the combined models with whirlpool bath,
you must provide the connection of the electrical box (fastened
to the framework of the shower enclosure or bath: ref. 2), to the
electrical supply and earthing plant. The cable may be routed in
several ways, provided there are no loose junctions. In any case,
please consult the "Electrical safety" chapter.
Note. The "Flexa Twin" model requires only one electrical con-
nection (on the bath), as the manufacturer has already pro-
vided the electrical connections between the bath and the
shower enclosure, preventing simultaneous use of the bath
whirlpool and the shower enclosure electronic functions.
PREPARATION OF TELEPHONE CONNECTION
For the models equipped with telephone, you must prepare a
raceway under the wall surface, or an external raceway, for
passing the telephone cable that is supplied (it is bundled up
and bound to the back of the shower enclosure). About 10
metres of loose cable are available for the connection to the
customer's telephone socket.
