Belt tension
Check V-belt tension regularly. New belts normally
require adjustment after the first 1-2 hours of work.
Hereafter, check belt tension at each 500 hours
of operation. Note that under difficult operation
conditions, it can be necessary to check the belt
tension more often.
The tension of the belt can be checked when the cover
of the belt guard is removed. Remember to put the
cover back in place before starting the blower.
Deflecting one of the V-belts as indicated in the below
table, can check the tension of the belt. If the tension
is correct, the force must be as indicated. Use, for
instance, a tension tester to check the belts.

*): TRL 100 - 60 Hz has direct drive.
Example: If a force on one of the belts of a TRL 200 is
applied, resulting in a deflection of 9 mm (0,35") and
the force used, is between 1,9 and 2,8 kg (4,2 and 6,2
lbs), the tension is correct. If the force is less, the belts
need to be tightened.

Check the tension of all the belts. In case it is not pos-
sible to adjust one set of belts, so that all the belts
have the proper tension, the whole set must be re-
placed.
In order to tighten the belts, the bolts on the motor
must be released. Then displace the motor in the slots
by means of the adjustment screws. Ensure that the
belt pulleys remain in alignment. This can, for example
be checked by holding a straight board against the
pulleys. Remember to tighten the bolts on the motor
again. Never tighten the belts too much, as this will
overload bearings and belts, thereby shortening their
lifetime.
Remember to check that the belts are not worn, and
replace them if necessary. All belts must be replaced at
the same time.
Motor
The motor must not be covered, and should be kept
free from dirt, that might reduce cooling.
For further instructions regarding maintenance of the
motor, please see the manufacturer's instructions.
