Important:
In order to ensure optimum safety and performance, please
study and understand these instructions before using the pro-
duct.
The pro ALLP tech descender was designed specifically for:
1.
Technical Rope Access personnel, who require multi-
ple use from their main control piece of equipment.
2.
Technical Rescue personnel, who require fast descent
to the casualty and then finger tip control or hands free
descent allowing maximum casualty care. Technical res-
cue should only be carried out by personnel who are
competent to do so.
3.
Intervention and Special Operations personnel, who
require rapid descent and stop or fine controlled stealth,
multi use and rapid detachment when required.
FUNCTIONS: This device can be used in the following ways.
The manufacturer strongly recommend that proper trai-
ning is essential before use and that users learn about its
practical and physical strengths and weaknesses. This leaflet
is guidance and not a training manual for this product. If the
product is misused and the guidance given is not adhered to,
any damage, injury or death which may result and any risks
taken are the user's responsibility.
a.
Screw controlled descent. Turn GREEN for descent
speed, Turn RED for stop. (7) & (8)
b.
Autolock controlled descent. Set GREEN for go squee-
ze handle. (9)
c.
Variable maximum speed setting for Autolock function.
Use screw and handle together. (10)
d.
Ascender. Take in rope belay. (11)
e.
Belay Brake. Let out rope belay. (12)
f.
Tensioned Line Brake. Take in rope belay. (11)
g.
Hauling System Brake. Use as pulley and brake. (13)
h.
Rope size 10.5mm to 12.7mm. (cf. EN1891)
SAFE SYSTEMS OF WORK These should be maintained at
all times and specifically that reliable anchorage points should
be above the user and that any slack in the anchorage line
should be avoided. A second safety line should be used for
optimum safety in conjunction with a back up device such as
the ROCKER (complies to EN353-2). In rescue before and
during use, consider carefully how rescue may be safely and
efficiently carried out if the necessity arises. The manufacturer
operates instructional courses covering all types of rescue sce-
narios.
TESTING & USE: The pro ALLP tech was tested to
prEN12841 type C devices using 11mm x 32 Platt Rescue and
intervention rope and 10.5mm, 11mm x 16 Platt and 12.5mm. x
20 Platt Low stretch ropes. Users must be aware that rope
conditioning such as wet, snow, ice and dirt etc. and different
diameters and manufacturers will all produce differing results to
any testing or use undertaken. The average static load mea-

sured on the above ropes was 4 kN. The maximum impact
was 6 kN as per test using 100kg load and 5.5 kN using 200kg
load.
IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO USE: Check your device for any
damage and correct function or malfunction.
and immediately after all use. If there is any doubt about the
safe condition of the device it should be withdrawn from use
and inspected by a competent person recommended by the
manufacturer or returned to the manufacturer. A record of
inspections should be completed at regular intervals depen-
dent on usage. It is recommended that a minimum yearly exa-
mination be carried out by a competent person.
Lifespan
It is difficult to estimate this but as a guide we advise as fol-
lows:
Do not use more than ten years after date of manufacture or
five years after first use, whichever is sooner. This assumes
correct storage. Working life can vary between a single use in
extreme circumstances (e.g. highly acidic environment,
serious fall) to the maximum of five years, dependant upon
how the product is used. Working life will be reduced through
age, general wear and tear, abrasion, cuts, damage to com-
ponent parts, inappropriate ancillary equipment, high impact
load, prolonged exposure to UV light including sunlight, eleva-
ted temperature (50°C max) exposure to chemical reagents
(e.g. bleach, acids etc) or failure to store and maintain as
recommended. This list is not exhaustive.
NOTE: All descenders create heat which can damage rope if
an excessively hot unit is allowed to remain in one position. To
help alleviate this, the side plates both on the pro ALLP tech
help to dissipate the heat from the friction bobbins and cam.
FITTING:
a)
Connect pro ALLP tech to Karabiner then to Harness
or Belay/Anchor attachment point.
b)
Position pro ALLP tech with screw control to the left.
PRO-ALLP TECH FRONT. (1)
c)
Open spring locking catch and at the same time open
plates to allow loading of rope. OPEN PLATES and
OPEN LOCK. (2) & (3)
d)
Load rope. LOAD/UNLOAD ROPE. (4)
e)
Close Plates and the locking pin will automatically
spring into its safety slot.
f)
Check the descender is in full lock position prior to
any decent or extra loading of casualty etc. Full lock
is when the auto-lock handle is in it's maximum park
position and the screw control has been retracted fully.
