Record formal inspections in the provided Inspection Log. Punch or indelibly mark the inspection grid attached to the
winch. Do not use a winch with a formal inspection date older than twelve (12) months. Tag winches with formal inspec-
tions that are out of date as "UNUSABLE" and remove them from service until after formal inspection. The safety of
users depends upon the continued efficiency and durability of the winch. MSA recommends keeping a log of formal
inspections for all components in a fall protection system or subsystem.

Winch with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)

The winch includes an RFID chip that can be accessed by an RFID scanner to help track inspection and service infor-
mation. RFID chip locations for applicable products are shown in the figures of section 2 in this manual.
