Description
For the mechanical water treatment of garden-ponds, close to nature swimming-ponds and swimming-
pools is the FIAP SpaltSkim a professional extraction system for water surfaces. This is an absolute
innovation in the development of surface-suction devices. The long-time approved FIAP SpaltSieve
Active (300 micron) holds even smallest dirt particles and algae back.

Assembly

main wind direction is mostly the east bank. So the dirt-particles can float perfectly in the direction of
the suction-opening. To support this process you can create additional water-streaming. During
installation make sure that no plants or rocks are placed in front of the suction-opening. They can
reduce the efficiency of the device for the suction of the water-surface (FIAP SpaltSkim Active).
Installation according to the sequence of the pictures
1.
Use a skimmer-flange for marking.
2.
When made out of metal sheet, plastic material or fiber glass drill with a drill machine a hole in
each of the four corners, inside the marking of the skimmer-flange. If it is a pond-foil then use a
sharp knife for this.
3.
With a jigsaw you cut the metal-sheet, plastic material, fiber glass and so on out.
4.
If necessary use a file to true and strip the cut.

Important:
The water-level of the pond or pool cannot be lower than 60 mm under the top edge of the skimmer-
flange (equals a maximum water level of 15 mm – 20 mm under the closed skimmer-weir).
